Amazone Pantera 4504 / 7004

General notes, tips and tricks

  • Read this complete manual before starting installation. This will give you a better understanding of where to place the different components and the relation between them. The manual covers the components (PV- and PO-numbers) in numerical order, but this is not necessarily the easiest order of installation.

  • Refer to the Boom installation broad acre manual for information on how to install the boom parts.

  • Reminder: BBLeap prescribes a 100-mesh pressure filter.

  • Reminder: The boom has to be flushed properly after swapping nozzle bodies and before installing the valves. This prevents potential damage to the valves.

  • The spray valves are very sensitive for damage by sharp particles. Make sure the whole system is properly flushed before starting installation. Flush the system again after removing old valves or membrane shut-offs and before installing the BBLeap valves. Otherwise sediment from chemicals that has come loose will damage the valves.

  • The installation of PV-0002, PV-0003 and PV-0005 might require the fabrication of custom made brackets or panels. These are not supplied by BBLeap. Make sure to organize these parts in time.

  • Regarding cable installation: first route the cables roughly and connect them according to the schematics. Only start tying them neatly after the ''dry'' part of commissioning has been done. This way progress in installation can be made sooner and critical commissioning/testing steps can be made sooner as well. Cable tying can be done afterwards or when you need to wait for whatever reason. Same applies for cables on the boom.

  • Good luck with the installation and if there are any suggestions on how to improve this manual, please let us know!

Schematic

PV-0001-IF-0025 - Interface Machine - IO

This topic is regarding the power supply and the integration with the isobus.

Power Supply

Cable DR0093D_4 will be used for the power supply. Connect the ring terminals X1 and X2 to the main battery switch in such a way that the power is cut off when the battery switch is off.

FOTO TOEVOEGEN

A 12V switching signal is needed to switch the relay. This 12V signal has to be switched, which means no signal when the machine is shut off. This can be done in different ways:

  • Option 1: when the isobus power is switched:

    • Connect X5 and X8 of DR0093D_4 with each other, like shown on the schematics.

  • Option 2: when the isobus power is not switched:

    • Find a switched 12V signal and connect it to X5 of DR0093D_4. For example a fuse inside the box underneath the armrest. The fuse bypass DR0107_1 and cable CA14 can be used. Leave X8 disconnected. This situation differs from the schematics.

Note: The isobus power (ecu power) is most likely not switched on a Pantera, so option 2 has to be used.

Isobus

The 9-pins in-cab connector of the Rogator can be used to connect to the isobus.

  • Plug connector X2 of DR0097_2 in to the in-cab connector.

  • Plug both isobus extension cables (CA3) in to X3 and X4 of DR0097_2.

  • Plug the other ends of the isobus extension cables (CA3) in to Isobus IN and Isobus END on the I/O interface module. These cables may be interchanged.

  • Put the end-cap X5 on X1 of DR0097_2. The isobus can is now closed.

Note: In stead of putting an end-cap on X1, it can also be used to connect other devices.

PV-0002-MA-0003 - Basic construction IO-front AM

These components will be pre-assembled by BBLeap in the After Market Box. Install the box on the right hand side of the machine in front of the rear wheel, behind the cover. See picture below.

PV-0003-MA-0002 - Basic construction PS Battery

These parts are included in the After Market Box.

PV-0004-IF-0002 - Interface PS-IO rear 6M

These cables are used to connect the LeapCore, mounted on the lifting frame, with the parts mounted at the center of the machine. If possible, route the cables together with the existing cable bundle. Check the schematics for details.

Make sure:

  • the cables are not rubbing against anything

  • the cables can not get squeezed or kinked

  • there is enough slack to move the lifting frame

PV-0005-MA-0003 - Basic construction IO-rear AM (LeapCore)

The LeapCore is already pre-assembled. Mount it on the center boom section. A custom mounting frame has to be made. The pictures below show examples of how it can be installed.

Option 1: On top of the center frame

Option 2: On top of the pendulum lock

Be aware: Option 2 will only work with boom configurations where the pendulum lock can't move up or down

The arrow indicates the hydraulic fitting that has been replaced by an elbow.

Note:

  • Make sure there is enough room to insert the can lines at the bottom of the LeapCore.

  • Make sure the covers can be removed for service access

PO-0003-MA-0001 - Turn compensation

The IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) is pre-assembled in the After Market Box.

PO-0045-MA-000 - Pressure measurement

The extra pressure sensor needs to be mounted next to the original sensor by using the T-piece and elbow. See picture below. The pressure sensor can be found on the midframe.

Position the sensors in such a way that they are pointing downwards, so no moisture can stay inside.

Plug it into IN1 on the rear I/O interface inside the LeapCore, according to the schematics.

PO-0046-MA-0001 - Flow measurement

An extra sensor for the flow meter is supplied. It has to be inserted into the flow meter that is already installed, as shown on the following picture. Depending on the specific machine configuration, there might be multiple flow meters on your machine. Make sure the extra sensor mounted on the correct flow meter. It has to be the one that measures the complete flow going from the pump to boom. It is indicated as [BWA011] in the schematics below.

Run the cable together with the other cables to the front of the machine and connect it according to the schematics.

The LeapBox will take over the control of the return valve during spraying, see Main valve control. To prevent this causing error messages on the Amazone VT, the second flow meter has to be relocated. The second flow meter is the one measuring the return flow from the boom to the front of the machine, as indicated by the arrow in the picture below. In the schematics it is indicated as [BWA020].

This flow meter has to be placed straight behind the first flow meter [BWA011], so it will be in the same line, as can be seen in the following picture.

PO-0047-MA - Pressure regulation

The pressure regulation will be taken over by the BBLeap system. This means a new pressure regulator will be installed.

The original Amazone pressure regulator [KWA011] has to be taken out of the system. It needs to stay electrically connected, to prevent errors on the Amazone VT.

The picture below shows the Amazone pressure regulator.

  • Disconnect the regulator from the main pressure line by disconnecting it at pos 55.

  • Install the male and female T5 blind caps supplied by BBLeap.

The BBLeap pressure regulator will be mounted on the center frame. The following steps need to be taken first, refer to the picture below:

  1. Turn the T-section 180 degrees, so hose B (to BBLeap regulator) will run on the left side of hose A (pressure to boom).

  2. Remove the relief valve [RWA013]

  3. Remove the Arag Seletron controller. See section Boom installation - machine specific for more information.

Next, install the pressure regulator according to the picture below:

  • Ta: Hose B from T-piece

  • Tb: Blind plug

  • Tc: Hose C to return/tank

Connect the pressure regulator to can 5 on the Leapcore, according to the schematics. Take an end resistor out of the I/O rear pcb and move it to the can-splitter.

Note: with the setup as shown on the picture, the minimum pressure is 1,6 bar. When a lower pressure is required, an additional return hose has to be connected to Tc and routed to the top of the tank.

PO-0050-MA - Main valve control

The LeapBox will take control of the valve [KWA020], shown in the picture above. During spraying this valve will close the return line D from the boom to the tank. Connect KWA020 to the I/O front according to the schematics.

  • Connect X2 of cable DR0101X_2 will be connected to can 6.1 for power supply

  • Connect X3 to OUT4 for signal

Boom installation - machine specific

Note: refer to the boom installation manual for general instructions

  • Remove the hardware and cabling from the original nozzle switching system from the boom.

  • Remove the Seletron control box and put a blind plug on the remaining cable.

  • In order to prevent error codes, the number of sections on the Amazone has to be lowered to 11. Follow the steps below to do so:

    • NOG AANVULLEN

Configure machine specific settings

  • Enter the configuration values according to the table below:

Configure liquid system flow measurement and pressure regulation

Before calibrating the flowmeter (if needed), set the number of pulses per 10 liter to the standard Amazone flow meter value of 660. If the exact value of the used flow meter is known, this value can be entered.

  • [1, Sensor 1]: Enter the standard value of 6600, or the exact value if known. Usually it is written on the label of the flow sensor. Note that the value on the label is in pulses per liter and the value to be entered in webvisu is in pulses per 10 liters, so it should be multiplied by 10.
