Quick Start
The user interface is designed to make work easy. Follow these quick steps to start spraying:
Specify your nozzle in the nozzle database. This is required to link the droplet size to the correct pressure (one-time configuration per nozzle type only).
Set application rate. This can also be based on task / task map, tree profile or real-time sensor.
Choose your droplet size.
Toggle main switch.
Enjoy spraying.
Below you will find a more extended spraying manual including all options.
Application Rate
The application rate of your LeapBox is based on the surface of the tree. We call this Liter per vertical hectare (L/vertical ha). This enables you to disconnect tree height and row spacing from the application rate. Below are several examples of the traditional calculation (L/horizontal ha) in comparison to the LeapBox rate setup. You will see that the application rate of the vertical hectares does not change with the variation in height and row spacing.
| Traditional calculation | No calculation |
| 200 L/ha | 200 L/vertical ha |
| 200 L/ha Correction factor 7% 214 L/ha | 200 L/vertical ha |
Lower tree: 160 L/ha Correction factor 7% 171 L/ha | 200 L/vertical ha | |
Average: 80 L/ha Correction factor -3.5% 77 L/ha Average | 200 L/vertical ha |
1. Manual Application Rate
For spraying with a manual selected application rate, insert the rate in [Rate].
Note: the application rate unit is liters per hectare. Based on the configuration, your machine is calculating based on vertical or horizontal liters per hectare.
Make sure you have the correct line and nozzle selected on the line selection page that is entered by pressing [Line - Nozzle]. The row spacing can be set in the arm tap. This is required for a correct relation between horizontal and vertical liters per hectare.

Selecting Tree Profile
LeapBox allows you to control and variate the application of every nozzle individually based on the shape or density of your tree. Use the presets [Preset] to save your most common tree shapes. Select the application rate per nozzle [Nozzle output], and turn the nozzles on or off that are not needed at all by setting them to 100% or 0% respectively.
[Button]:
[Preset] - Selected preset
[Nozzle output] - Nozzle output as a percentage of 100%
3. Application Rate based on Task / Task Map
For spraying based on an application rate (fixed or variable) provided by the task controller, press [Task map].
The button for manual application rate [Rate] will turn grey (inactive) since LeapBox will now use the application rate of the task controller. [Task map] will turn green if the task controller is online, and it will turn orange if the task controller is not online.
Press and hold button [Task map] to enter the task map selection page of LeapCat (optional). The selected task number will appear inside the button.

Selecting task map
You can choose between spraying based on an ISOBUS task control server or LeapCat task maps. In the list of task maps you can select the desired task and you’re ready to spray.
[Button]:
[ISOBUS] - Select ISOBUS task control
[LeapCat] - Select a specific task map from LeapCat, with the following information
Total hectares
Application rate range
Total liters needed
Task Maps can be uploaded and assigned to a BBLeap machine in LeapSpace.
4. Spraying based on Real-time Sensor LeapEye
For spraying based on a real-time sensor, press [Camera]. Depending on the sensor type, the application rate is provided by the sensor or should be given manually. LeapBox is aware of this and will turn [Rate] white (active) or grey (inactive). Button [Camera] will turn green if the sensor is online, and it will turn orange if the sensor is not online.
Press and hold button [Camera] to enter the program selection page of the real-time sensor. In the selection program number you can choose the sensitivity of the detection and what the camera detection is based on.

Droplet Selection
The LeapBox will provide the available droplet sizes of the selected nozzle in button set [Droplet].
One of the droplet sizes must be selected. The selected droplet size will turn orange and the actual droplet size will turn green.
Based on your selection, it provides a target pressure [Pressure - Flow]. The sprayer will regulate to this target pressure automatically.
Note: Always make sure the actual pressure is as close as possible to the target pressure to ensure good spray quality and the desired droplet size. This can be easily checked at [Pressure - Flow].

Spray Line and Nozzle Selection
LeapBox offers the possibility to configure 4 different spray lines (A, B, C, D).
A spray line can be activated or deactivated by pressing the corresponding letter [Spray line]. In the image below, spray line A and B are active. The chosen nozzle for spray line A is a Wilger SR110-08 nozzle.
Clicking on the nozzle name [Nozzle] enables you to choose any nozzle that is in the nozzle database.
[Button]:
[Spray line] - Spray line activation
[Nozzle] - Nozzle selection
Nozzle Database
In the nozzle database you can select a desired nozzle [Nozzle selection]. For each nozzle the following information is shown: nozzle size, smallest droplet size and largest droplet size. Nozzles specifications can be created [Add Nozzle], adjusted [Adjust Nozzle], and deleted [Delete nozzle] in this database.
[Button]:
[Nozzle selection] - Selected nozzle for spray line
08 nozzle size
Smallest droplet size
Largest droplet size
[Adjust nozzle] - Adjust nozzle specification
[Delete nozzle] - Delete nozzle from database
[Add nozzle] - Add new nozzle in database
Nozzle Specification
Every nozzle has a fixed relation to pressure and droplet size. You can find this relation on the website of the nozzle manufacturer or supplier. When using a new nozzle, this nozzle must be specified in the LeapBox nozzle database. You make adjustments to nozzles in the database the same way.
[Button]:
[Nozzle name]
[Min pressure] - Minimal pressure for droplet size
[Nozzle angle] - Nozzle top angle
[Maximum pressure] - Maximal pressure for droplet size
[Nozzle size]
