Quick Start
The user interface is designed to make work easy. Follow these quick steps to start spraying:
Specify your nozzle in the nozzle database. This is required to link the droplet size to the correct pressure (one-time configuration per nozzle type only).
Set application rate. This can also be based on task / task map or real-time sensor.
Choose your droplet size.
Toggle main switch.
Enjoy spraying.
Below you will find a more extended spraying manual including all options.

[Button]:
[ISOBUS] - Select ISOBUS task control
[LeapCat] - Select task map from LeapCat, with the following information

Task Maps can be uploaded and assigned to a BBLeap machine in LeapSpace.
3. Spraying based on Real-time Sensor
For spraying based on a real-time sensor, press [Camera]. Depending on the sensor type, the application rate is provided by the sensor or should be given manually. LeapBox is aware of this and will turn [Rate] white (active) or grey (inactive). Button [Camera] will turn green if the sensor is online, and it will turn orange if the sensor is not online.
Press and hold button [Camera] to enter the program selection page of the real-time sensor. The selected program number will appear inside the button.

In the list of programs you can select the desired program and you’re ready to spray. You can add new programs yourself [Add] or adjust current programs [Adjust].
[Button]:
[Select] - Select program
[Adjust] - Adjust program
[Add] - Add program
[Remove] - Remove program
Add / Adjust program
There are different detection models available for different crops and weeds, for which you can choose what to target (the main crop, a weed family, specific weeds or all) and with which rate strategy.
[Button]:
[Name] - Adjust name of program
[Base rate] - In case the target selection is not detected.
[Min rate] - Min rate for little detected biomass
[Max rate] - Max rate for a lot of detected biomass / on-off
[Fallback] - Fallback in case of unscanned area by the cameras
[Biomass] - Min-max regulation based on biomass
[Sensitivity] - Sensitivity of plant size detection
[Crop] - Crop selection
[Target] - Target selection
To select a detection model choose an available crop [Crop] and target selection [Target]. When pressing [Target] you can select from a list: the main crop, weed families, specific weeds or all (see below).
The sensitivity of plant size detection (biomass) is adjustable by pressing [Sensitivity]:
Low: maximum savings - a lower sensitivity is conservative and will spray when plant sizes are higher and their presence is confirmed.
Medium: default function - a learned arbitration between agro-economic and agro-ecology.
High: maximum spraying - a higher sensitivity is aggressive and sprays in any doubt of plants presence, so reduce savings.
For each target selection you can choose different rate-strategies:
Rates
Base rate
Set a base rate [Base rate] in case the target selection is not detected. In other words, this rate or blanket will always be applied.
On / Off
Set a maximum rate [Max rate] for all detections
Variable rate based on plant size (biomass)
Press [Biomass] to enable min-max regulation based on plant size
Set a minimum rate [Min rate] for little detected biomass
Set a maximum rate [Max rate] for a lot of detected biomass
All detected biomass in between is distributed linearly
Fallback
In case of unscanned area by the cameras can you select a [Fallback], which can be equal to the base rate or the maximum rate.
This setup allows you to make all kind of combinations. For example, by using a soil herbicide as a blanket (base rate) and at the same time changing the dosage based on the size of detected weeds.
Note: A lot of biomass can mean either a large detected plant or a large number of smaller plants together.
4. Quick Adjustment (+ & -)
To quickly adjust the application rate, press soft key [+] and [-] in the right panel. The updated application rate will be shown in orange to note that it is different from the original. Hold [+] or [-] for more than 2 seconds to reset the application rate to the original value.

Droplet Selection
The LeapBox will provide the available droplet sizes of the selected nozzle in button set [Droplet].
One of the droplet sizes must be selected. The selected droplet size will turn orange and the actual droplet size will turn green.
Based on your selection, it provides a target pressure [Pressure - Flow]. The sprayer will regulate to this target pressure automatically.
Note: Always make sure the actual pressure is as close as possible to the target pressure to ensure good spray quality and the desired droplet size. This can be easily checked at [Pressure - Flow].

Spray Line, Pattern Selection and Nozzle Selection
LeapBox offers the possibility to configure 4 different spray lines (A, B, C, D).
A spray line can be activated or deactivated by pressing the corresponding letter [Spray line]. In the image below, spray line A and B are active. The chosen nozzle for spray line A is a Wilger SR110-08 nozzle.
Clicking on the nozzle name [Nozzle] enables you to choose any nozzle that is in the nozzle database.
Clicking on the spray pattern [Spray pattern] enables you to choose any pattern that is configurated. Up to 4 patterns can be configured, when you don't want to use a pattern select [None].
[Button]:
[Spray line] - Spray line activation
[Nozzle] - Nozzle selection
[Spray pattern] - Spray pattern selection
1. Nozzle Database
In the nozzle database you can select a desired nozzle [Nozzle selection]. For each nozzle the following information is shown: nozzle size, smallest droplet size and largest droplet size. Nozzles specifications can be created [Add Nozzle], adjusted [Adjust Nozzle], and deleted [Delete nozzle] in this database.
[Button]:
[Nozzle selection] - Selected nozzle for spray line
Nozzle size
Smallest droplet size
Largest droplet size
[Adjust nozzle] - Adjust nozzle specification
[Delete nozzle] - Delete nozzle from database
[Add nozzle] - Add new nozzle in database
2. Nozzle Specification
Every nozzle has a fixed relation to pressure and droplet size. You can find this relation on the website of the nozzle manufacturer or supplier. When using a new nozzle, this nozzle must be specified in the LeapBox nozzle database. You make adjustments to nozzles in the database the same way.
[Button]:
[Nozzle name]
[Min pressure] - Minimal pressure for droplet size
[Nozzle angle] - Nozzle top angle
[Maximum pressure] - Maximal pressure for droplet size
[Nozzle size]
Example
Below, an example is given of converting the nozzle specification sheet of the Hypro ULD 120-08 to the LeapBox nozzle database.
